Calm River Swimmers
Calm River Swimmers (Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia). There is a beautiful gravel trail that leads out of the town of Annapolis Royal and along the Annapolis River. It is lined with trees, waving marsh grasses, marshy waterways, and this calm river upon which a family of ducks are seen swimming.
This original painting is part of the Poetry of Place Collection which celebrates the harmonious beauty of Nova Scotia’s South Shore. Paintings in this collection focus on a quiet, poetic interpretation of the homes, gardens, and coastal landscape that surround my studio… and the light that illuminates this place.
These mini paintings contain the same depth and thoughtfulness as my larger pieces – just as a musical miniature can be as emotionally rich and structurally complete as a full symphony. Their small size invites you to lean in close and engage personally with each piece.
You can read the story behind the collection, view all available paintings, or just all available miniatures in the shop.
Details
Acrylic on 6” x 6” wood panel.
Signed in the lower corner of the painting.
Beautifully framed in a contemporary floater frame. Hangs flush to the wall with a concealed wire.
Miniatures can be hung in a special spot, tucked into a corner, or grouped together for a gallery wall look. As an original piece of art, it is truly one-of-a-kind! If you love it, I hope you will collect the painting for your wall, so it can give you that same feeling over and over for years.
