Long Autumnal Walk. This painting is based on a collage made up of my own photos from around Nova Scotia. A Lunenburg house is given a red roof and set in a large coastal grassland. A path meanders through the golden autumn grasses as they catch the light and breeze. Two people walk along the coastline toward a beach while murmurations of birds swoop overhead in ever-shifting patterns of silent movement.
This original painting is part of the Poetry of Place Collection which celebrates the harmonious beauty of Nova Scotia’s South Shore. Paintings in this collection focus on a quiet, poetic interpretation of the homes, gardens, and coastal landscape that surround my studio… and the light that illuminates this place.
You can read the story behind the collection, or view all available paintings in the shop.
Acrylic on 20” x 20” on gallery depth canvas.
Signed in the lower corner of the painting.
Hangs flush to the wall with a concealed wire.
Canvas sides are painted with a solid and harmonious coordinating colour, so it can be hung as-is or framed in a floater frame – depending what suits you and your home best.
As an original piece of art, it is truly one-of-a-kind! If you love it, I hope you will collect the painting for your wall, so it can give you that same feeling over and over for years.
